Tips for Social Media

Making regular updates is critical to ensuring success. A social media site will do nothing for your club if you do not keep it active.

How can your club use social media?

Facebook Page or Open Group

  • Must have an individual account first, but it's free
  • Create events, issue invitations, post photos
  • Good to keep members informed
  • Update regularly to show your club is active and thriving

Meetup Group

  • It is not free but the District can help with the cost
  • Post announcements of your meetings
  • Use good keywords to attract potential members
  • Keep it active; club members should post comments

LinkedIn and Twitter

  • Neither are very useful for finding new members
  • Twitter posts have a character limit; no calendar or event invitation capabilities
  • If you have a LinkedIn account, join the TI Members LinkedIn group for interesting discussions which are searchable and a good source of ideas
  • D25 also has its own LinkedIn group
